Introduction

This four week special class is for dogs 18 weeks and older at the time of the first class

(dogs under 6 months should attend Puppy Class instead) who have never attended a formal obedience class.

We know that fitting a 6 week class into your busy schedule can be difficult, so this “express” course will cover the key skills from our Basic class and cover them in just four weeks.

We will work on basic manners including attention/focus, sit, down, stay and coming when called.

Pricing

*4 week course = $140 (maximum 6 enrollees)

Class will meet at the same day/time each week for the duration of the course unless specified otherwise.

The Class

If your dog gets very worked up when seeing another dog while ON LEASH:

Barking, growling, lunging (even if they just want to play) every time they see a dog when you are out on walks, Basic class is not for you. Instead, please check out our Reframing Reactivity course HERE or our Private lessons page HERE. Leash reactivity is a common problem that requires it’s own individualized program via private lessons or specially designed group classes specific to those behaviors. Dogs who react in this way would not be comfortable, or capable of learning, in our other group classes as the presence of the other dogs in class would be quite overwhelming. If you have questions about whether or not your dog might be considered reactive, please don’t hesitate to call or email us.

In this class, your pup will continue to work on all “3 D’s” (duration, distraction, distance) of sit/down stay, sit politely for greetings, recalls and “Wait.” They will learn new and exciting behaviors such as “Park It” (go to mat and lie down), “Front”, “Heel” and much more! Your dog can only become a “Terrific Teen” by persistence, perseverance and practice!

This level is also intended for dogs who have completed Basic class whether they are a “teenager” or not as we will be building on the behaviors you started in your Basic class as well as adding a few new ones!
